Austin Commons, Commander of 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Brigade, prepares to case the unit old colors during a reflagging ceremony at Grafenwoehr, Germany, Jan. 8, 2026. This event will mark the inactivation of the 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, and the reactivation of the 3rd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. The ceremony is intended to facilitate a graceful and honorable transition, paying respect to the lineage and service of all current and former Paratroopers of both the 1-91 CAV and the 3-504 PIR.
