HAGÅTÑA, Guam (July 21, 2025) — Community members, military leaders, service members, and veterans gather in Hagåtña for the 81st Guam Liberation Day Parade commemorating the island’s liberation during World War II, July 21.
The annual parade featured marching bands, village floats, military participation, flyovers, and the Liberation Day Queen, highlighting Guam’s strength, resilience, and enduring cultural pride. This year’s theme, Fanohge CHamoru, emphasizes unity, perseverance, and the call to rise together as one people.
Guam Liberation Day honors the U.S. service members who fought and died to liberate the island in July 1944 and recognizes the resilience of the CHamoru people who endured nearly three years of occupation.
