(Oct. 15, 2025) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Tyler Brooks assigned to Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC) Whiting Field, a branch clinic of Navy Medicine and Readiness Training Command (NMRTC) Pensacola, inserts a phlebotomy needle in the arm of a Sailor during a training exercise, Oct. 15, 2025. NBHC Whiting Field held a “Top Doc” program that was a competition designed for corpsmen that are E-5 and below to compete in training that consist of a tactical combat casualty care course, sutures, basic life support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other field medical procedures to ensure field and operational readiness.
