NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2025) – Vice Adm. John Gumbleton, commander, Task Force 80 and deputy commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, speaks with service members during the 20-year remembrance ceremony for the loss of the three-man-crew flying an SH-60B Seahawk helicopter, call sign “Venom 505,” assigned to then Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 48, now designated Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48, at Naval Station Mayport, Dec. 12, 2025. The crew of Venom 505 was lost at sea on Dec. 13, 2005, while conducting counter-narcotics operations in international waters west of Colombia.
