Ben Acohido, member of the VFW Department of Hawaii, stand in honor of fallen submariners at the USS Parche Submarine Park and Memorial. Submariners past and present honor those who have gone before in a Memorial Day service sponsored by the United States Submarine Veterans Association, Bowfin Base. The service included a special lei presentation honoring USS Growler (SS 215), USS Seawolf (SS 197) and the 1st Filipino Infantry Regiment of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2572.
