A soldier from 1-214th General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB) successfully guides a CH-47 over a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) to "sling-load" the equipment. The coordination from within the aircraft is critical to safely and accurately "sling-load" any equipment with a CH-47 Chinook. To correctly "sling-load" any equipment, the aircraft and ground assets must have clear communication. By "sling-loading" equipment, 2-159 Attack Battalion is able to support the V Corps mission of providing a ready and rapidly deployable unit to deter and defeat any aggression throughout the European Theater.
