U.S. Army Spc. 5 Royce Powers, a radio repairman assigned to the 160th Ordnance Detachment, U.S. Army Southern European Task Force Africa, (SETAF-AF), admires his new rank in Vicenza, Italy, circa 1958. Powers, now 90-years-old, recently reflected on his military service, highlighting his time with SETAF-AF. SETAF-AF, which celebrates its 70th birthday in 2025, was originally based in Verona, but moved to Vicenza, Italy, in 1958, welcoming Powers as one of the first Soldiers to be stationed at the newly opened Caserma Ederle.
