Since 1636, the National Guard has remained Always Ready, Always There. Today, we celebrated 389 years of answering the nation’s call with trained, disciplined, and ready forces at home and abroad.
We honor our history with time-honored cake-cutting ceremony. As tradition goes, the oldest and youngest Soldiers and Airmen in attendance made the ceremonial cut, symbolizing the passing of experience and tradition from one generation to the next.
