Attendees of the commemoration ceremony pay their respects at the USS Oklahoma Memorial, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Dec. 7, 2025. The 429 marble pillars represent the servicemen who died aboard USS Oklahoma (BB 37) during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor Navy Yard (now Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility) workers helped to save 32 Sailors and Marines from Oklahoma on the day of the attack. PHNSY & IMF’s mission is to keep the Navy’s fleet “Fit to Fight” by repairing, maintaining, and modernizing the Navy's fast-attack submarines and surface ships. Strategically located in the heart of the Pacific, it is the most comprehensive fleet repair and maintenance facility between the U.S. West Coast and the Far East.
