U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Giovanni Rao, a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear responder with Marine Wing Support Squadron 373, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, tests for simulated radiological isotopes as part of CBRN training during Steel Knight 25 on San Clemente Island, California, Dec. 5, 2025. Marines with MWSS-373 surveyed an abandoned facility for the presence of simulated CBRN hazards to facilitate safe establishment of a forward arming and refueling point. Steel Knight is an annual exercise that strengthens the Navy-Marine Corps team's ability to respond forward, integrate across domains, and sustain Marine Air-Ground Task Force readiness.
