Oregon Army National Guard Lt. Col. Eric Christensen presents a medal to Shelbie McQueen at her school, Woodburn Elementary in Camas, Washington, on Dec. 3, 2025. Shelbie was honored for her exceptional bravery and prompt actions in helping two community members in distress last summer, first on September 9 and again on September 12, by alerting her parents to contact emergency responders to assist in medical emergencies on both occasions.
