Marines assigned to the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 242 (VMFA-242), participate in a foreign object debris (FOD) walk down on the flight deck of the forward-deployed amphibious assault carrier USS Tripoli (LHA 7), in the Pacific Ocean, Nov. 29, 2025. Tripoli is currently underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
