The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dredge MURDEN removes sediment from the Ocean City Inlet, Nov. 23, 2025. The Wilmington District shallow-draft vessel is clearing the entrance to West Ocean City Harbor and depositing dredged material on Assateague National Seashore to help prevent erosion. The MURDEN can carry the equivalent of up to 50 dump truck loads of material and releases it by splitting its hull. The seven-day operation is slated to be finished before the end of the month.
