PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 20, 2025) –U.S. Navy Sailors shoot a pair of boots off the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), Nov. 20, 2025. It is a tradition to shoot a pair of boots off the flight deck after a shooter completes their last catapult shot of their career. Theodore Roosevelt, flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9, is underway conducting training to bolster strike group readiness and capability in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
