Chief Master Sgt. Jason Ballou, 104th Maintenance Squadron Senior Enlisted Leader, delivers a speech after being promoted to Chief, November 19, 2025, at Barnes Air National Guard Base, Westfield, Massachusetts.
Following his promotion, Chief Master Sergeant Ballou thanked his friends, family, and fellow Barnestormers for their support, and offered words of encouragement on the Wing's transition to the F-35.
"I ask you all to lean on each other for the next two years. We have been the best in the business for a long time, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team to take the world’s premier fighter aircraft to our enemy’s doorstep - and know that we will do it with dignity and grace as we establish our reputation in the F35 community. We will fail from time to time, but we will fail forward, and we will not succumb to paralysis by analysis."
