John Gorman, widely known as “Papa John,” a seventh-degree black belt and coral belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, trained U.S. Army paratroopers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade at Caserma Del Din on Nov. 19, 2023.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army’s Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the U.S. European, African and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains with NATO allies and partners to strengthen interoperability and readiness.
