U.S. Army reconnaissance Soldier Nikolus Castillo of Multipurpose Company, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, sit atop an observation point on Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA) Hawaii on Nov. 14, 2025. The Soldiers were stationed there for three days, demonstrating discipline and endurance while subjected to windy, sand-filled conditions while participating in the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) Rotation 26-01. The team conducted sustained reconnaissance, showcasing their warfighting readiness and lethality in a challenging environment. Throughout the operation, Sgt. Lopez also provided mentorship to the Soldiers, teaching critical skills in observation, target identification, and fieldcraft. The Soldiers took both the mentorship and the demands of the three-day mission in stride, demonstrating professionalism, resilience, and unwavering focus. The exercise brought together U.S. forces, multinational partners, and joint enablers to hone their tactics, techniques, and procedures required to fight and win across jungle and archipelagic environments during large-scale combat operations, all in support of maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific.
