U.S. Army reconnaissance Soldier Staff Sgt. Nikolus Castillo of Multipurpose Company, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, sits atop an observation point on Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA), Hawaii, Nov. 14, 2025. Castillo was stationed there for 3 days, demonstrating discipline and endurance amid windy, sand-filled conditions during the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) Rotation 26-01. The team conducted sustained reconnaissance, showcasing their warfighting readiness and lethality in a challenging environment. Throughout the operation, Sgt. Lopez also provided mentorship to the Soldiers, teaching critical skills in observation, target identification, and fieldcraft. The Soldiers took both the mentorship and the demands of the three-day mission in stride, demonstrating professionalism, resilience, and unwavering focus. The exercise brought together U.S. forces, multinational partners, and joint enablers to hone their tactics, techniques, and procedures required to fight and win across jungle and archipelagic environments during large-scale combat operations, all in support of maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific.
