The right femur and patella of U.S. Army 1st Sgt. William McAllister, Co. G, 4th Vermont, who sustained an artillery wound at the Battle of Fredericksburg on Dec. 13, 1862. The limb was amputated on Dec. 23, 1862. McAllister was discharged from service on Sept. 19, 1864. [AFIP 1000858]
