Family and friends welcomed home the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star (WAGB 10) crew after the cutter returned to its Seattle home port, Sept. 23, 2025, after the ship’s 28th voyage to Antarctica. Upon completing Operation Deep Freeze 2025, Polar Star returned directly to Mare Island Dry Dock in Vallejo, Calif., to complete the final year of a five-year Service Life Extension Program prior to returning to Seattle.
