250914-N-IE405-1003 BAY OF CADIZ, Spain (Sept. 14, 2025) Seaman Jewel Greene, from Waterbury, Connecticut, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80), uses an alidade to verify the bearing and range from a contact at sea on the bridge wing as the ship conducts sea-and-anchor evolution before returning to Naval Station Rota, Spain, Sept. 14, 2025. Roosevelt is forward deployed in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations to support the warfighting effectiveness, lethality and readiness of U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa, and defend U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region.
