PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Sept. 8, 2025) – Command Master Chief, Naval Sea Systems Command, CMDCM Blake Schimmel signs the wall of USS Illinois’ (SSN 786) floating barge at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Sept. 8, 2025. Schimmel spent several days speaking with shipyard Sailors about a variety of issues. In addition, he provided guidance while answering questions during an all-hands event. PHNSY & IMF’s mission is to keep the Navy’s fleet “Fit to Fight" by repairing, maintaining, and modernizing the Navy's fast-attack submarines and surface ships.
