Joseph Sahl, the deputy director of Military Advisory Group-North, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve, CJTF-OIR, discusses the validation exercise with Ministry of Peshmerga, MoPA, General Bahzad Barzani, the commander of 5th Division, during the 5th Division’s validation exercise in Rezan, Iraq, Sept. 9, 2025. The exercise was to assess 5th Division’s full operational capabilities during simulated scenarios to show their prowess as a self-sustaining force under MoPA.
