QUANG TRI, Vietnam – U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Luke Vogelsang demonstrates Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) mission preparation and planning with the assistance of a translator during Pacific Friendship 2025 in Quang Tri, Vietnam, Sept. 10, 2025. The session allowed Vogelsang to engage directly with members of the People’s Army of Vietnam and foster shared understanding of its capabilities and operations. Pacific Friendship 2025 is an inaugural-annual exchange led by United States Army Pacific and represented by the U.S. Army’s 18th Theater Medical Command. It reinforces the longstanding relationship between Vietnam and the United States, and includes Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, medical, civil affairs, and engineering lines of effort, which directly enhance the quality of life of Vietnamese citizens while helping the greater region prepare for manmade and historically-unpredictable natural disasters.
