Sgt. Jessica Sears (left), of Pocahontas, Ark., is taken down by Staff Sgt. Rebecca Osborn, of Stephenson, Mich., during Taser Certification Traning, May 9. Sears, a team leader, and Osborn, a squad leader, are military police officers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. Sears and Osborn were two of 18 MPs that conducted taser familiarity and scenario-based training at the Directorate of Emergency Services, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. The soldiers spent two days learning about the weapon and, following classroom training, were placed in various situations that required them to quickly react to a variety of aggressive and non-compliant subjects.
