The Wisconsin Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion hosted the Norwegian Foot March in Lake Mills, Wis., Sept. 7. Nearly 150 participants included Soldiers and Airmen from the Wisconsin Army and Air National Guard, the Army Reserve, Active-Duty Army, U.S. Marines and members of the Madison Fire Department who rucked along the route. A total of 119 finished the march, which accounted for nearly 80 percent of the field. The Norwegian Foot March tests endurance by requiring participants to carry a 25-pound pack for 18.6 miles within a strict time limit. Those who met the standard earned the Norwegian Foot March badge, a foreign award authorized for wear on the U.S. military uniform. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt. Oscar Gollaz)
