From left, Air Interdiction Agent Brandon Alwin and Supplemental Aircrew Member Samuel Valaer, both assigned to El Paso Air Branch, Air and Marine Operations (AMO), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), execute a radio check to establish secure communications for mission support near El Paso, Texas, Aug. 20, 2025. During this deliberate operation, UH-72 Lakota helicopters assigned to Joint Task Force-South Border (JTF-SB) operated in coordination with AMO to identify the sources of laser activity targeting aircrafts supporting southern border security. JTF-SB Border executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of CBP to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
