HONOLULU (Aug. 20, 2025) Capt. Robert Kleinman, facilities director, Navy Closure Task Force-Red Hill (NCTF-RH), speaks with a guest during the NCTF-RH open house at the Oahu Veterans Center in Honolulu, Aug. 20, 2025. The quarterly open house focused on tank cleaning operations, Tank Closure Plan Supplement 4, environmental remediation and monitoring, and reactivation of the Navy Aiea-Halawa Shaft. Charged with the safe decommissioning of the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility (RHBFSF), NCTF-RH was established by the Department of the Navy as a commitment to the community and the environment. The Navy continues to engage with the people of Hawaii, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders as NCTF-RH works to safely and deliberately decommission the RHBFSF.
