Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Jerell Hurdle directs an F/A-18F Super Hornet to a catapult during flight operations aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz is assigned to the U.S. 7th Fleet, operating in the western Pacific and Indian oceans. The 7th Fleet is the largest of the forward-deployed fleets with approximately 50 ships, 120 aircraft and 20,000 Sailors and Marines.
