NORFOLK (Aug. 14, 2024) – Sailors and Marines man the rails of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28) as the ship departs Naval Station Norfolk for a regularly-scheduled deployment. The Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group (IWO ARG) – 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC) depart Norfolk and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina after completing a comprehensive, nine-month training program.
