Col. John L. Mayer, commanding officer of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit congratulates the Marines of 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines embarked aboard the amphibious transport dock USS Juneau for their contributions to the success of the amphibious integration training exercise EVALEX '08 as part of their annual spring patrol. Juneau is the Navy's only permanently forward deployed amphibious transport dock and part of the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group.
