Rock Island District Commander Col. Aaron Williams presents Frederick Joers with the Gallery of Distinguished Civilian Employees award at the Rock Island District Corps Day. red began his career with the Rock Island District in 1981 and retired in 2021. He served in the Structural Engineering Section as a Structural/Project Engineer from 1981 - 2014, including 11 years as Section Supervisor. He then moved over to the Inland Navigation Design Center - Mandatory Center of Expertise in 2014 and served as the director of the INDC from 2016 until his retirement in 2021. Over his 41-year career, he demonstrated an outstanding record of service and leadership, particularly as Chief of the Structural Engineering Section and Director of the Inland Navigation Design Center.
