    Airmen 1st Class Christopher Pyles and Reece Stucker, 341st Operations Support Squadron weather specialists, walk away from an automated weather observing system Aug. 7, 2025, at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont. Malmstrom’s weather specialists work within the flightline where most of their equipment is posted. They provide real-time data and forecasts to Malmstrom’s helicopter squadrons that aid them in avoiding dangerous conditions like thunderstorms, turbulence and low visibility.
