U.S. Army 2LT Kenyatta Sears, Executive Officer to the Adjutant General (TAG) of the District of Columbia National Guard, receives the rank of 1LT during a promotion ceremony at the D.C. Armory, on August 5, 2025. The ceremony was officiated by Brig. Gen. Leland D. Blanchard II, the Adjutant General (TAG) for the District of Columbia National Guard. 1LT Sears enlisted into the D.C. National Guard in Oct. 2014 as a Military Police Specialist, later serving as a Religious Affairs Specialist and Corrections and Detentions Specialist.
