HAGAT, Guam (July 19, 2025) U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Josh Lasky, commander, Joint Task Force - Micronesia, U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Brett Mietus, commander, Joint Region Marianas, and service members lay a wreath during Hågat Memorial ceremony, July 19. The ceremony honored the men and women of Hågat who suffered or died during the Japanese occupation and the island’s liberation in World War II. It commemorated the Fena Cave Massacre, the U.S. landing at Hågat Beach, and the 12 lost men of Hågat who were taken by the Japanese to carry ammunition and supplies to Mañenggon.
