U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Andrew Pelton, flight chief, 125th Security Forces Squadron, Florida Air National Guard, receives the esteemed Bronze Star Medal during a ceremony at the 125th Fighter Wing’s Jacksonville Air National Guard Base, Florida, Aug. 1, 2025. Pelton was honored for meritorious service while deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve with the 443rd Air Expeditionary Squadron, 387th Air Expeditionary Group, at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq. Pelton was recognized for multiple significant and far-reaching actions while under imminent threat, including leading personnel in the protection of the airbase, and safeguarding forces and $3.4 billion dollars worth of aircraft. The Bronze Star Medal is the fourth highest individual military decoration for valor awarded to those who perform specific acts of merit in operational environments where lives and mission success are at stake.
