On D-Day alone, Rescue Flotilla One rescued 484 individuals and Hamlin’s rescue boat pulled scores of injured soldiers from the water that day; of the 484 total rescued, 194 Allied personnel were rescued off Omaha Beach, 157 off Utah Beach, and 133 off Gold, Juno, and Sword Beaches.
