    The guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) leads a formation of U.S. Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force ships assigned to the George Washington Carrier Strike Group and the Essex Expeditionary Strike Group through the East China Sea during an exercise on Nov. 19, 2008. The exercise is conducted yearly by U.S. and Japanese naval forces to continually improve their working relationship.
