Crew members of the Los Angeles-class submarine USS Scranton (SSN 756) stand by on the sail of the submarine for a supply delivery from a SH-60F Sea Hawk helicopter while surfaced in the Arabian Sea on May 9, 1996. The Sea Hawk was flying from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). The George Washington and its battle group were operating in the Arabian Gulf where they conducted air patrols in support of Operation Southern Watch. Southern Watch is the U.S. and coalition enforcement of the no-fly-zone over Southern Iraq.
