U.S. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Platoon, Maritime Raid Force, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Dutch Marines with 2nd Marine Combat Group, board a U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 265 (Rein.), 31st MEU, during a reconnaissance and surveillance exercise as part of Talisman Sabre 25, in Queensland, Australia, July 24, 2025. The training was conducted to further enhance amphibious reconnaissance skills by utilizing JaiaBot unmanned underwater vehicles to locate the optimal crossing point in the water enabling rapid and safe crossing. Talisman Sabre is the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific by strengthening relationships and interoperability among key allies and partners, while enhancing our collective capabilities to respond to a wide array of potential security concerns.
