ANNAPOLIS, Md. (July 25, 2025) Commander, Submarine Group 2 Rear Adm. Melvin Smith, Commandant of Midshipmen Capt. Gilbert Clark Jr., and Plebe Summer Officer In Charge Col. Rogelio Maese, review the second formal parade for the class of 2029 during Plebe Summer, a demanding indoctrination period intended to transition the candidates from civilian to military life. Parades are a visual presentation of the military discipline, professionalism and teamwork necessary to succeed as a member of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and have been a part of Naval Academy training since its establishment in 1845.
