Maj. Steven Sherrill, executive officer for Task Force Phalanx, and commander of troops for the May 1 transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, leads the troops in a salute. The transfer of authority ceremony marked the official passing of responsibility of Multinational Battle Group- East's aviation assets, from Task Force Cash to Task Force Phalanx. Task Force Cash began their journey in July, deploying from their home states of Arkansas, California, Hawaii and South Carolina for training and mobilization at Camp Atterbury, Ind. The ceremony signifies their successful completion of their duty in support of Operation Joint Guardian, and MNBG-E. They are being replaced by Task Force Phalanx who deployed from their home stations of Maryland, Florida, Oregon and Indiana in March for mobilization training at Fort Hood, Texas.
