Rear Adm. Lincoln Reifsteck, commander, Submarine Group 7, pins a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal on Lt. Peter Greenbaum, Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer of the Arleigh Burke class guided-missile destroyers USS Benfold (DDG 65), during a visit to the ship, July 23, at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka. Submarine Group 7 directs forward-deployed, combat capable forces across the full spectrum of undersea warfare throughout the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Arabian Sea. Benfold is forward deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s Largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
