    Soldiers from the U.S. Army Band, “Pershing’s Own,” and the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) conduct full military funeral honors with escort for U.S. Army retired Col. Rose Marie Edinger in Section 75 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

    Edinger entered the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in June 1976 and served for 35 years, ending with her assignment as Chief Nurse of Critical Care at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She saw action while assigned to the 47th Combat Support Hospital during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Her military awards include the Legion of Merit w/ 1 OLC and the Bronze Star.

    Edinger’s husband, U.S. Army retired Lt. Col. Timothy Edinger, received the U.S. flag from her funeral service. They were married for 42 years.
