NEWPORT, R.I. (July 14, 2025) — Acting Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Kilby visited the Senior Enlisted Academy and took the opportunity to speak and PT with Class 286. While speaking to Class 286, he expressed three essential elements for a strong warfighter, outlining the importance of building strong teams by investing in a Sailor's mindset, skillset, and toolset. Emphasizing that it is a senior enlisted’s responsibility to train everyone they encounter. ACNO empowered the class to solve everything within their job scope, reminding them that it's okay to ask for help in overcoming perceived barriers. He also ensured that, as senior enlisted leaders, it is essential that they understand the resources available to the fleet to support the mental health of Sailors. The Senior Enlisted Academy develops senior enlisted leaders by preparing them to serve in command and higher-level leadership positions in the Navy and Joint services.
