Damage Controlman 1st Class Curtis Shanklin, a recruiter assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pacific Northwest, delivers a letter from Acting Chief of Naval Operations Adm. James Kilby to World War II veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor Machinist’s Mate 1st Class (Ret.) Geb Galle at his family home in Moses Lake. Galle, who turned 104, served aboard USS Nevada during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack and later aboard USS Northampton and USS Mobile in the Pacific theater.
