Navy ManTech, a member of the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel (JDMTP), demonstrated how a small robot helps with submarine construction, July 8, 2025. The robot fits inside submarine pipes, navigating inside to smooth out welds in Virginia and Columbia class submarines. The demonstration was part of an annual event sponsored by the DoD Manufacturing Technology Program (DoD ManTech), which included exhibits and demonstrations across its portfolio. The JDMTP identifies shared manufacturing needs of the Military Services and works with DoD ManTech to resolve warfighter challenges through technology and innovation.
