NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (Jul. 13, 2025) A Sailor assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) greets his family as the ship returns to Naval Station (NAVSTA) Mayport, Florida, Jul. 13, 2025. The Sullivans returned from an 8-month deployment that supported combat operations in the Red Sea and it was their fifth deployment in three years. The Sullivans executed a full spectrum of missions across two operational theaters in the U.S. Navy’s 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation, enhancing interoperability with NATO Allies and regional partners while demonstrating the Navy’s commitment to freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce.
