Senior Fish and Wildlife Biologist Catherine Breaux studies two herbaceous indicator species, Rhexia alifanus (purple/pink)and Rhexia lutea, both listed on the Wet Pine Flatwood Rapid Assessment. This research is funded in collaboration with the USFWS and the USACE NewOrleans District. Also, note that these natural resource assessments support the agency's execution of the Clean Water Act and associated statutes. The ERDC Wetlands Team also develops rapid assessment methods tailored to the specific needs and locations of their State, Federal, and local partners. (U.S. Army Photo by Brigida I. Sanchez)
