The 2006 SemperComm Art Competition featured works from high school students across the metropolitan Washington area. Three winners, Joseph Wharton (left), Lindsay Hall (center), and Caitlin Parker, were chosen from more than 150 submissions by a panel of five professional artists. The entries were judged on color, stroke, imagery and adherence to the theme. The 2006 contest theme was “Taking a Walk Through History: Reflecting on How Service Members have Shaped America.” The 2007 contest is open to high school students from across the country.
