Dan Philbin presents a bouquet of donated roses to Victoria "Torie" Clarke, assistant secretary of defense for public affairs. The roses were the idea of three girls in Fallbrook, Calif., who held a "Pennies for the Pentagon" drive to raise more than $1,100 in a week. Philbin and co-workers randomly distributed the flowers to Pentagon workers on Oct. 11, 2001. "The caring and support for the Pentagon and the people who work here has been amazing," Clarke said.
